Dia Drain

Whilst st00p and Siologen were in Bristol in the summer of 2006 they went along to check out a drain that myself and st00p had recced almost a year previous. Turns out we had recced the infall and while afterwards Drainrat & Oggy had independantly recced the outfall. It's a 1Km stretch of modern culvert on the last reaches of an Avon tributary stream. Constructed mostly of rcp with a few two storey inspection chambers of pre-cast sections along it's length, it's most interesting of features is the huge slide at the infall, dropping you down a good 25ft.

The Avon having the second highest tidal range of any river in the world, it's not surprising that Dia is not a fun place to be when the tide decides it's coming back up the tunnel. St00p and Silo had to back track before reaching the outfall due to the severity of the Bristolian (?) tide.
